At Church of the Ascension we have a number of pupil voice groups that help to support decision making, for the school.
School council |
Monthly meetings are held with Mr Bradley. The School Council represent their classes to make suggestions that will help to improve our school. This includes improvements to the school environment, suggestions for trips and visits, ideas of extra-curricular activities, trips and visit and much more. School Council also take their roles as advocates of change, very seriously and have been involved in community projects and take the lead in decision making regarding charity involvement. recent projects include petitioning and working with the local council to ensure that our village park is accessible to all. another example, is the year 6 led project in supporting the Black Country Food Bank. We are very proud of the work that our School Council do. |
Worship committee |
Regular meetings help to inform the school’s Christian Distinctiveness. Worship Committee help to inform Collective Worship themes, links with church, spirituality curriculum and reflection areas, around school site. |
Wellbeing Ambassadors |
Meet fortnightly with our school senior mental health lead and Reflexions to plan the school’s support and activities to enhance wellbeing for all of our pupils. |
Playground Buddies |
Pupils from years 5 and 6 support younger pupils in positive play. In addition, they help to manage equipment during social times and ensure that everyone has something positive to do in their social times. |
