Reception children were shocked to find a very large egg in their sandpit this afternoon. We had lots of suggestions about where it could have come from and what it might be…we’ll keep you posted!

The children were very excited to check the egg this morning and even more pleased to see that it had hatched!

Inside was a little pterodactyl! Some children weren’t quite sure whether it was real or not, especially when Mrs York pretended that it was wriggling when she tried to pick it up.
Lots of children knew that it couldn’t be real as dinosaurs are extinct. We had some lovely conversations about what that word means and lots of information about the children’s favourite dinosaur.
What a fantastic start to our new topic! The children are all really keen to try some exciting dinosaur activities this week.
